Students who obtain an average of credit or better in the core program and in their major sequence will receive an invitation to continue to Honours which will take one year of full-time (or 18 months part-time) study to complete. The Honours Program in Social Science and Policy is designed to provide students with appropriate training and guidance for the completion of a major piece of social science research. Some may proceed to a PhD or other research degrees. If these requirements are met and with the approval of the relevant School, Department, or Program students can complete an Honours thesis on an agreed Social Science and Policy, or an interdisciplinary topic. All programs require completion of fourth year seminars, and a substantial research project based on original research on a topic approved by the School.
