Dr Ojha is a Research Fellow with School of Social Sciences at UNSW. His research spans multiple disciplinary domains including sociology, anthropology, political science, development studies and environmental sciences to understand issues about governance, policy, institutions, equity and power in the environment-development interface. He is currently working on a research project related to enhancing food security, with a focus on policy and institutional dimensions. He is also working on research related to climate change adaptation, policy processes, climate change and urbanization, agricultural adaptation, ecosystem services, decentralization and community based natural resources management.

He also brings rich practical and policy expereinces in Asia and Africa prior to joining the academia. He has worked in Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Cameroon, the UK, and Australia. He is the co-founder and former chair of ForestAction Nepal (2000), and the current chair of Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies (2011). His book entitled "Adaptive Collaborative Approaches in Natural Resource Governance" (2013) has recently come out of Routledge.

Dr Ojha's teaching interests include social dimensions of climate change, public policy, development studies, participatory development, and natural resource management.

 

Currently he is teaching a course entiteld Development and Climate Change Adaptation (ARTS3754).
